Make America Healthy Again: The Vital Role of Chiropractic in Reducing Mental Stress

There is one thing we all share in common. Rich or poor, black or white and everyone in-between, we all have to deal with stress. Although it is common and inescapable, we all experience stress and deal with it differently. This is due partly to the nature of stress and partly to the uniqueness of the individual.

Stress is any “physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension.” Stress is a force that effects the health of the whole person, both mind and body. Stress creates a cascade of actions and reactions that contribute to a plethora of diseases.

Mental stress can contribute to bodily ailments. This is called psychosomatic. And bodily stress can intensify mental conditions. This is called somatopsychic.

Stress has to go through the filter of our Nerve System. It is the Master System. Nerves control every movement we make, regulate all our body organs, sense everything we feel and relate us to the outside world. Stressed nerves increase tension in the body. Chiropractic focuses on tension that effects the spine.

Spine tension effects how nerves move muscles, regulate organs, sense feelings and perceive the environment. Alleviating tension on the spine improves balance throughout the entire Nerve System. In the “eyes” of the Nerve System, there is no difference between body stress and mental stress. One will undoubtedly effect the other.

A Chiropractic adjustment helps remove tension on the spine and puts the Nerve System back into a healthier tone. This will significantly reduce physical discomfort and mental stress. This improves mental clarity and emotional balance.

The better equipped the Nerve System is to adapt to stress, the better the body can strive for balance. The better adaptability a person has, the better expression of health they can achieve.

Chiropractic care provides a natural, non-pharmaceutical path to reducing stress levels, ultimately contributing to improved mental health outcomes.
