Make America Healthy Again: Vital Role of Chiropractic in Comprehensive Health and Wellness

If you are only going to a Chiropractor for pain relief, you are really only utilizing 10% of Chiropractic’s capabilities. How come?
Chiropractic care is focused on helping your body make the most effective use of your Nerve System. And this means all of your Nerve System; not just the nerves that modulate pain.
The Nerve System in general does four main things: It controls all the movements we make, senses everything we feel, regulates all our body organs and relates us to the outside world. Only about 10% of the Nerve System is dedicated to sensing pain. The other 90% is concerned with sensations besides pain, different types of perceptions and the regulation of muscle organs.
All nerves connect with the spine in some way, shape or form. The spine is the bridge between the brain and the body and acts like an emissary for nerve communication. And like bridges, the spine can buckle when stress is applied to them.
Different degrees of stress can tax the spine, injuring its structural integrity. One type of injury to the spine is a vertebral subluxation.
A vertebral subluxation is when a spinal bone loses its proper position to an extent that it interferes with the transmission of nerve information between the brain and body. All nerves can be interfered with (not just the ones that sense pain) causing a disruption in how they function and communicate with the body.
A vertebral subluxation puts the spine and Nerve System at a disadvantage. The Nerve System cannot sense, perceive or behave at its greatest potential. All functions, from digestion to immunity are effected. Health, healing and overall wellness become suboptimal.
A Chiropractic adjustment helps remove interference to nerve transmission at the spinal level. This optimizes nerve function. To optimize something means to “make the best or most effective use of a situation, opportunity, or resource.” The Nerve System can more effectively sense, perceive and behave when not interfered with. This contributes to overall wellness and allows Americans to live healthier, more holistic lives.
