At What Age Should a Person Start Seeing a Chiropractor?

A person should start seeing a Chiropractor when they realize that spine and Nerve System health are important for them and their family.

Chiropractic can start from day 1 of life and on. There is a very simple reason that Chiropractic can start at the beginning of life or anywhere along the journey. The reason is we all have spines and Nerve Systems. Not only that, because we all have spines and Nerve Systems, we all can get vertebral subluxations. And vertebral subluxations prevent all spines and Nerve Systems from expressing themselves at their greatest potential.

There is an old idiom that states: “As the twig is bent, so is the tree inclined.” This concept is similar for us as well: “As the spine is bent, so is the Nerve System inclined.”

Early epigenetic factors influence how the Nerve System and the protecting spine develop throughout life. Quoting from the textbook Pediatric Chiropractic:

“In the skeletally adult spine, the structure primarily dictates function with regards to joint movement. For the developing pediatric spine, the functional demands drive the formation of bones and joint surfaces.”

Chiropractic aims to maintain an optimal environment for the spine and Nerve System to develop and function. The earlier we can cultivate this, the better the health trajectory is achieved.

While it is more ideal to help grow healthy children than to fix broken adults with Chiropractic, all ages can benefit from care no matter when you start. Stress throughout life can either be traumatic or it can be transformative. It all depends on how well adaptive your spine and Nerve System is.

Providing your spine and Nerve System with the best chance to adapt is what Chiropractic aspires to offer anyone, no matter when you start care.

You can benefit from Chiropractic if you are 9 days old or 99 years old. There is no better time to start Chiropractic than at the beginning. And every moment of life is a new beginning.
